My Three Mexicana Loves
Adela Noriega, Tatiana Palacios, and Lucero Hogaza León. These three loves are for one Adela who reminds me of my Mom. Tatiana, and Lucero who's music I love. Plus I felt they were a part of my spiritual life. Without these loves, the words Arab, Arabic, Muslim, Islam, and most of Allah may never be in my vocabulary or a part of my life. Why? Adela brought more memories of my Mom to me, Those memories will take me to Spain and strangely a closeness with the Arab world that wil allow me to ask questions, that normally I would not ask. Tatiana was like a dear sister in spirit, that I believe helped just to keep my thoughts with Mexico as aligning me and keeping me on a spiritual path that was meant to be. And Lucero gave me a song, Gracias Virgen Maria, and through this song though I will try to join Maria with God but this will never happen for Maria herself would say no. God has no partners and through this song, I learn that this is so. But this song did open me up to the Shekhinah (Tranquillity-Sakina in Arabic) of God. And because of passion, and truth, the Shekhinah will guide to Islam through helping search for the Fatimah (peace be with her).

The Last Memory of my Mama
In the Name Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Before Mom died, she used to get down on her hands and knees, looking me right into my eyes with her long flowing, wavey (bright) red hair and green eyes. Saying these words often, " My son, we are Jews, we are the tribe of Judah" which will stay with me all my life. My Mom and Dad died near Christmas day of 1962. From here, this will end my Jewish faith for a long time being adopted by Christians...... but her words will ring on. And I will only look upon Judaism but only from a distance. Then recently I read about the Shekhinah, and this will change everything. For almost a moment I becamse Jewish in faith but it will not last, as I have found Allah and all because of the Shekhinah. Did you know, that Carmen in Spanish from the Hebrew Karmel means Garden of God? Could it be my Mom's prayers that has brought me this far?


Sakina (Shekhinah) Tranquillity,
Spirit of God (Holy Spirit)
In the Name Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. I have noticed how much a change has come into my life. How beautiful this experience is with Allah and, I found Allah, due to my experience with the Jewish Shekhinah called Sakina in Arabic known as Tranquillity. And I believe, that the Shekhinah to be the presence of God (Allah) and felt as if she has touched my life. There is a great history concerning the Shekhinah, though her name not be found in the Jewish Tanakh (Old Testament), she is mention in the Talmud. Her name means dwelling in short. And may she dwell in us. She may also be the Christian Holy Spirit, but we know she is the Spirit of God. Why is the Shekhinah called a she? Because it's Hebrew in feminine form. Does it mean that she be female? No. Just like we use the word "We" for Allah in the English translations of the Quran but Allah is still one and not 2 or 3 just one. This experssion of "We" in Arabic is found in Hebrew as Elohim, here God (Allah) calling Himself as "We" in Hebrew. It's like a title in Arabic. As the King is coming, we don't say he is here, we say they are here. In this respect the Shekhinah is called a female but still is a male. And I can feel this sweet sweet Spirit. And believe the Shekhinah showed me the Fatimah and by this, I was led to Islam. Then I was led to Sura 48:4, 18, and 26 .....My heart melted. Oh Tranquillity, Oh Tranquillity. Yes, she is Tranquillity. And I also believe the Shekhinah encourage me to buy Arabic music, and here I fell in love with Sofia Marikh.

Prayer Language
(Language of the Spirit)
In the Name Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Here, the course of events are going to really change me. And as I was praying for Sofia Marikh, I have noticed the words in my prayer language. What is prayer language, I call it a "Gift" being in Charismatic Christian Church. According to them it's a sign that the Holy Spirit is within you. Now this prayer language has been with me since the age of 17. Most of the time, I just don't think much about it but the prayer language does show up when I go into prayer. Why? I don't know. It just does. So, here I am praying for Sofia Marikh and noticed a word........ that word is "Allah" and noticed this word repeating constantly in this prayer..... hmmmm how can this be, and why never I noticed it before? Has it always been this way since 17?........ I believe so. Ya Allah, Ya Allah .......I was moved with compassion, deep compassion and here if this be a "Sign" of Allah for me, I am surely noticing. I had tears. Yes, my "Sign" showing me the "Truth".........sigh.

In the Name Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Yes, in this so called prayer language that represents the Presence of God's Spirit within one supposedly usally expressed in unknown tongues (languages) has become even more a mystery to me. Hearing the words, Allah being spoken, over and over again, and again. And I found, that I am not the only one who has heard Allah in their prayer language. Hearing Allah in this prayer language automatically sets my path on Islam.


Passion of Love in finding Sofia's cd
In the Name Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Without my love for Sofia Marikh, I may never noticed, that is to take notice of Allah, and His Holy Word, the Quran. What is interesting, that Sofia's album was not in print as of yet, at least not in this country of the USA and what I thought to be a real album, is was what we call a knock off (illegitimate copy). No, case, no jewel, no insert, just a sleeve for the cd. And I said oh no, this cannot be, how can I help Sofia (to get credit for the music sold) if I am buy an illegitimate cd. Oh now this cannot be, and was furious that this was not a real cd. Oh it was a good copy.........but I don't like buying copies. Not me. So, I started searching, and searching to no avail. The only thing I could find was downloads of the album but are they legal? Then I found one, at 24arabia.com but they too looked like copies. At least it had a jewel case but no insert, just the cover and back. I know they are making copies but are they legal? (noticed that 24arabia.com is also sell Jannat's cd, bet it's made really cheap like Sofia's) In all this quest, I did finally found a legal copy of Sofia Marikh's album (http://www.maqam.com). Oh, I was so very happy, to treasure this cd of Sofia for Sofia was my favorite of favorites and because of this, I will take notice of Morocco........ it's not the first time I been here in my thoughts (dreams) and long before this present experiences of Arabic Music, and Islam, Morocco was in my dreams and studies years ago. I said to myself isn't this interesting, that out of all the music in the world the first I come to love is Sofia of Morocco?.... I find it fascinating. And because of this wonderful music of Sofia, she will add to my experience with Allah.

An Accident? or being guided?
In the Name Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Because of Sofia Marikh, I kept looking for her friend's work. Forgetting the name, and not knowing that she had no cd as of yet, and that she really lived in Lebanon, I was thinking this friend be in Morocco. I never research this until recently, Sometimes I feel really stupid but there again perhaps this was meant to be? That the events would guide me, because what I come to realized that for one who does not know of Arabic, it will be a hit and miss in everything I do. My biggest limitation would be, that it had to be in English for me to even bother. And the most strangest of all experience up to this point that only Sofia's music has never produced in discord within myself. Since I do not know of the Arabic language, I will be using this as my guide that the music does not produced discord within me when I listen to it. And I also felt that Allah might be saying spiritually (inspiration) to me, that this was not the right type of music. And I never felt this from Sofia's music. Could I really be guided here? Only Sofia's music brought inspiration, harmony and peace......... I do not know why. This in sort became my guide. And any time I noticed music from Morocco, I tooked noticed. I've have bought 4 albums due to the fact the artists are from Morocco. But only one of them will really catch may attention. And it be the last one I bought. Was I guided to this, or just blindly mislead? Whatever the case may be, even though this was not the friend of Sofia that I was looking for, it will not matter as of now because this person's voice took my breath away. This music did everything that Sofia's music did and more. This heavely voice, this beautiful voice, that pierced my heart and soul. Jannat's music brought me peace, and harmony ........not sure why, I do not know Arabic but her voice...........oh this voice, I just love her voice....what a very beautiful voice. This was the birth of Jannat into my life........... oh, how I love her voice. I thought she was Sofia's friend but she was not the one. But this accident (blindly lead) was most gracious for I love Jannat's voice and her style music. Oh her voice............ her voice. Gosh, I love, Jannat's voice, then I tooked noticed of Jannat the person........... and fell in love. And never would I have dreamed of this.

More on Jannat
In the Name Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Will, Jannat's music continue to play a major part in my life? Is it possible that Allah through inspiration is using Jannat's music to bring me this peace, this joy, this love to my heart and soul? And I ask why her music? Why her? Jannat is truly what I been looking for. And through Allah, she is like my inspiration. Gosh, I can listen to her as I read the Quran. It is such a moving experience. Gosh, I am so inspired and I do believe this music just might open more doors within my life spiritually. Jannat is like the purist of all. She is most pure in dress, that I have seen of the Arabic singers. Her music has meaning and depth for her. And I know she is spiritual. She takes her faith with Allah, seriously. My wish for her that she will always the month of Ramadan off to be with Allah, and the Quran. Peace, and Tranquillity of Allah beyond to her.

In the Name Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. I love it's meaning......the one guide to the right path. Jannat's last name is beautiful....... Mahid........I love this name. With her first name meaning Paradise, and her last name Guided one.....we could say she is guided to Paradise........the right path. And I love this name so much, that I will use Mahid as my last name when I change it to Arabic.
